Green Party Gains Momentum as Labour Hits Historic Low

(MENAFN) Labour has fallen to its lowest recorded support in a YouGov survey, with backing dropping to merely 17%—equal to that of the Conservatives.

The poll, carried out for The Times and Sky News, indicates that the far-right Reform UK is leading with 27%, while the Green Party has climbed to 16% and the Liberal Democrats to 15%.

These results point to a significant transformation of the political arena, with four of the principal parties—Labour, the Conservatives, the Liberal Democrats, and the Greens—now grouped within a narrow two-point margin of one another.

Responding to the YouGov data, Mothin Ali, the Green Party’s co-deputy leader, told a media outlet: "When we said we were here to replace Labour and take the fight to Reform we meant it. People are flocking to the Greens because they see we are the party pushing for bold change and are making hope normal again."

Ali noted that the Greens have witnessed a sharp increase in membership in parallel with their polling rise.

"We have now surged beyond 150,000 members—more than a 100% increase in just over a month. In the same period, our poll ratings have shot up to their highest ever YouGov showing, and the Green Party is now within touching distance of Labour."

Under the leadership of Zack Polanski, the party’s membership has expanded dramatically, climbing from roughly 70,000 to over 150,000 in just seven weeks.

The Greens are increasingly appealing to younger voters and urban constituencies, particularly in London, where surveys show the party enjoys stronger favorability than any other political group among this demographic.
