Labour Support Dip to Historic Low as Greens Climbs in YouGov Poll
(MENAFN) Labour support has plunged to an unprecedented low of just 17% in a new YouGov poll, equaling the Conservative Party’s backing.
The survey, conducted for The Times and Sky News, reveals the far-right Reform UK leading with 27%, while the Green Party has climbed to 16% and the Liberal Democrats now sit at 15%.
The data points to a dramatic shift in Britain’s political landscape, with four major parties—Labour, the Conservatives, the Liberal Democrats, and the Greens—now separated by mere two points.
Commenting on the results, Mothin Ali, co-deputy leader of the Green Party, told media: "When we said we were here to replace Labour and take the fight to Reform we meant it. People are flocking to the Greens because they see we are the party pushing for bold change and are making hope normal again."
Ali highlighted the Greens’ rapid growth in membership alongside their polling surge: "We have now surged beyond 150,000 members—more than a 100% increase in just over a month. In the same period, our poll ratings have shot up to their highest ever YouGov showing, and the Green Party is now within touching distance of Labour."
Under the leadership of Zack Polanski, the Greens’ membership has soared from roughly 70,000 to over 150,000 in just seven weeks.
The party is increasingly appealing to younger voters and urban populations, particularly in London, where they are now the most favored party among this demographic.
Environmental policy remains their strongest area: a YouGov survey shows 57% of Britons trust the Greens at least a fair amount on environmental issues, giving them a credible platform as their influence continues to expand.
